The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) recognizes corporate excellence and felicitates the best U.S. Companies in India in the following categories: Overall Best Company; Financial Services; Manufacturing and Other Services; and Technology, Communications & Entertainment. Virtusa won the Best Paper Award at Step-Auto 2008 International Conference on Test Practices and Test Automation, held in Bangalore, India, on February 21st, 2008. The paper by Venkata Ramana L., Senior Manager Testing, was titled "Developing Effective Testing Organizations— An Approach Based on TQM Philosophy." (February 2008)

Participating for the first time in the NASSCOM IT Innovation Award, Virtusa was a finalist from among 300 nominations highlighting Market-facing Innovation, Input Innovation and Process Innovation. The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) evaluation panel recognized Virtusa as a finalist in the Process Innovation category. (November 2007)

The Virtusa BT NetC (SWIFT) team won the “Best Customer Experience Innovation” Award team for the BT.com Beta program. The award was presented at BT's annual Innovation Awards dinner held on June 5 , 2007. (June 2007)

The Virtusa eTUMS team received the Aetna Enterprise category award for “Innovation and Implementation of New Technology” at Aetna Information Services (AIS) Pride Day. (May 2007)

The Virtusa SWIFT team won an award for the Best Offshore Development Team at the BT Agile Awards for Q4 2007. (March 2007)

The BT SWIFT team won the Best Overall Application of BT's Core Agile Practices for the Response Centre application developed by headed by Sumudu Gunawardhana. Response Centre was the first Open Source project to follow BT's Agile practices to the fullest extent. This project is considered as the 'Pathfinder' for Agile projects within the NetC program. This year's 44 finalists were selected from more than 90 nominations by an independent Finalist Selection Committee composed of area business, academic and civic leaders (May 2006)

Co-founder Tushara Canekeratne received the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2005 Award from the Women’s Chamber of Commerce (WCIC) of Sri Lanka. She also won the Gold Medal in the Large Business category. (May 16, 2006)

Virtusa has been named to the Global Offshore 100 companies, a listing determined through a worldwide survey conducted by outsourcing consulting firm NeoIT and CMP Media. NeoIT and CMP Media are publishers of magazines such as Information Week, Dr. Dobbs Journal, Byte, Software Development, etc. This was the first time Virtusa participated in the survey. The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) presented Virtusa Chairman and CEO Kris Canekeratne, with Sri Lanka's Young Director of the Year Award 2005 for "excellence in business strategy making". (May 2005)

The Hyderabad Software Exporters' Association (HYSEA) presented Virtusa with the HYSEA award for the Best Established Offshore Development Center at a ceremony held in Hyderabad on February 25, 2005. Virtusa won the award for its outstanding growth and contribution to the Hyderabad software arena during 2003-2004. Virtusa shares this award with Keane India Ltd. (February 2005)

On October 23, 2003, Virtusa was honored by Bank One with an award for outstanding performance, quality and excellence. The award was handed out by Bank One’s CEO, Jamie Diamond and CIO, Austin Adams in the presence of senior Bank One executives and their top (10%) IT suppliers. (October 2003)
