Network Engineer
Overview
This position is for Network Expert to be a part of Global Infrastructure Managed Services IMS team to provide support in 24 7 rotational shift.
The Network Engineer role is to support the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal network downtime. The person will also diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training and support where required.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, test, maintain, upgrade, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot networking hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports Leveraging toolkits like Solarwinds, Dynatrace.
Receive, respond, and resolve incoming incidents and requests under agreed SLAs regarding telecommunications systems and network
Perform remote analyze, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users
Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory
Prepare, maintain, and adhere to procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring network data
Liaise with, and provide training and support to, help desk support staff on network issues.
Perform network equipment updates and respond to security audits
Perform system backups and recovery
Operational experience with or immediate on the job training in F5 and Palo Alto Networks security equipment will need to be achieved.
Required Knowledge and Experience
Education: University degree in engineering / computer science or similar
Experience: Minimum 4 year relevant work experience network administrator, network engineer.
Certification: CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, zscaler
Technologies required: Experience working on Cisco devices. Expertise on Cisco SDA will be a plus
Extensive technical knowledge of Cisco IOS and technologies, protocols and standards, networking hardware and software solutions.
Ability to operate network component analyzers, scanners, and testers.
Hands-on network troubleshooting experience.
Good understanding of ITIL processes and best practice
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Must be highly motivated and have a positive attitude
Understanding of SLA terms
Proven track record working in a global and multicultural environment
Cisco, Aruba, OSPF, BGP v4, Spanning Tree, 802.11 a/b/g/n, zscaler, TACACS+, SSH, TCP/IP, DNS, QOS, IPv4, AD, IP Management, Radius, VPN, Network Security, SAAS, Private Cloud, ITIL, Vendor Management
