Job description
Strong knowledge of Progress database architecture and management
Experience with database security, backup, and recovery
Proficiency in SQL and database scripting.
Familiarity with database monitoring tools and techniques.
Proficient in database tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of related technologies such as Linux/Unix, networking, and storage systems
Experience with high-availability environments and large-scale databasesDBA should be able to perform the following activitiesoInstall, configure, and upgrade Progress database software
Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise
Database configuration: Ensuring that the database is configured correctly, secure, and performs well
Database monitoring: Monitoring database and system performance
Database management: Managing and supporting all production, QA, and development environments and support data migration
Database design: Designing, architecting, and implementing databases at an enterprise scale
Database backups: Managing and monitoring database backups and data growth
Database performance tuning: Tuning database performance, Optimize queries, indexes, and database structures
Database support: Providing on-call support for production support
Database maintenance: Performing periodic maintenance for databases in fixed windows
Database Security: Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
Database Security: Conduct regular security audits to identify and mitigate potential vulerabilities.
Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to application developers and other users.
Maintain and update database documentation, including configuration, processes, and procedures
Manage user access and permissions to the databases.Understanding on relational database concepts
Should have knowledge to recommend system-wide changes to enhance overall system performance and operation
Progress Database Administrator certification or similar
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
