The company embarked on a strategic shift towards a cloud-centric operational model. They encountered cloud transition challenges with their legacy systems, PingFederate and ADLDS. A collaborative approach with Microsoft Entra ID
Virtusa implemented a comprehensive solution leveraging Microsoft Entra ID to build upon the client’s vision for a modern and secure cloud-based identity management system. This strategy addressed the client’s scalability, security, and automation needs, resulting in a significant improvement in efficiency and a renewed focus on innovation.
Virtusa’s solution consisted of the following:
- 1,600+ applications transitioned from PingFederate to Entra, streamlining access management across the client’s extensive network.
- Enhanced identity management with Entra for 73,000 standard accounts
- Incorporated Microsoft Active Directory in 100+ locations worldwide
- Added external collaboration services for several hundred partners
- Integrated Patient Portal SSO
- Established automated workflows for new application registrations, configuration setups, application retirements, ticketing updates, and ticketing closures upon completion.
- Replacing PingID with Microsoft Authenticator to simplify login procedures and improve user experience.
Throughout this process, Virtusa ensured a standardized service rollout spanning ~80,500 users and managed over 2,000 registrations across testing, quality, and production environments in an estimated 20 countries.
