Organizations were wasting significant time and resources on failed projects. Our client wanted to solve the following project management challenges:

  • Project failures: Over 70% of global projects across different domains do not meet their intended benefits, leading to cost overruns, delays, and resource issues even when they're partly achieved.
  • Data relevance and search difficulty: Project managers struggle to access accurate information efficiently. Finding relevant data and sources is time-consuming and often yields irrelevant results.
  • Lack of knowledge and effective tools across the community: Across the domains, it has been seen that project managers lack the necessary knowledge and tools to tackle project challenges effectively.
  • Impact of poor project performance: Organizations waste significant amounts on failed projects, with an average loss of $97 million per $1 billion invested.
The Solution

Virtusa suggested implementing a genAI assistant for project managers, the first for our client. We began with a proof of concept (POC) that utilized 10 publicly available documents. The focus was on creating a conversational and responsive system with multilingual capabilities. Following the POC, the project moved into a pilot phase, during which it was launched specifically for the Americas.

Virtusa’s genAI project management assistant uses a sophisticated LLM model like GPT-3.5-Turbo, connecting it through Semantic Kernel to generate responses for various queries, making it accessible to anyone without a ChatGPT+ subscription.

The solution enables project managers to effortlessly access reliable and accurate answers vetted by the global network of our clients with over 14,000 pieces of thought leadership.
